Job Title Quality Inspector II (Non‑Exempt) Location Glastonbury, CT Shift 2nd Shift Summary We are looking for an Aerospace Quality Inspector to perform 1st piece, in‑process and final inspection on aircraft engine components for compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements and company specifications before or after manufacturing processes. This will also include performing inspection procedures including checking dimensions of related surfaces, holes, etc., as well as assessment of finish and detection of undesirable nonconformances. Essential Functions Obtain blueprints and company specification sheet for the item and particular order. Review internal operation sheets against customer blueprints. Determine inspection procedure to ensure complete verification of specifications and dimensions. Obtain necessary fixtures, gauges, and indicators to check parts for compliance with specifications, within prescribed tolerances. Complete certain assurance checklists during the process. Perform dimensional checks of parts while in the machine when necessary. Reject unacceptable items, document nonconformance, and move part to quality clinic. Complete the required company paperwork on machine parts inspection activity. Accurately document all inspections (Ex: Receiving, In‑Process, Final). Communicate with co‑workers, colleagues, and Supervisors to receive instructions and/or guidance and coordinate activities. Organize and maintain inspection department, gauging methods, etc. Work independently and efficiently to meet customer requirements. Work with shop personnel to induct incoming parts and aid in the expeditious shipment of critical parts. Adhere to standards of safety and housekeeping as established. Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required. Required Qualifications & Experience Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data. High School Degree or G.E.D. 3+ years of experience. Desired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices. Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level. Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, swing gage, etc. Ability to read and understand work instructions such as Op Sheets, Engine Manuals, Customer Purchase Order Requirements, etc. Ability to work with operators to ensure all requirements are met. Ability to travel 5-10% when required. Knowledge of blueprint reading and machinery limitations.
