Nuclear Medicine and CT Technologist - Full Time

Job Description JOB SUMMARY As a Nuclear Medicine/CT Technologist, you will perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, including the administration of radiopharmaceuticals, image processing, and quality control. Additionally, you will operate computerized tomographic (CT) equipment to produce diagnostic scans as directed by ordering providers and perform general x-rays. Responsibilities NM – Properly prepares radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures as requested by physician. Calculates and administers the correct dose for each patient. CT – Perform CT and radiographic procedures; obtain patient history, answer patient questions, and explain the procedure. NM – Properly selects technical factors based on pathology of an individual patient. CT – Maintains equipment; including QC testing, informs appropriate person of malfunctions or potential problems. NM – Effectively operates gamma cameras and other equipment; contacts the appropriate person when equipment malfunctions. CT – Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education, conferences, and seminars; attends and updates mandatory training. Maintains BLS certification. Effectively performs quality control checks on the equipment as mandated by the regulatory agencies and keep an accurate log of the checks performed. Supports and upholds established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with NYSDOH and ACR accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct. Supports and upholds established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Ensures that equipment, supplies and accessories are available as needed; performs duties in a cost-effective manner in an effort to avoid waste of hospital resources without jeopardizing the quality of care and service. Properly transports patients to Nuclear Medicine exam room; prepares and maintains room. Effectively provides education and technical demonstrations to students, nursing staff, and other health care professionals; assists in orienting and mentoring staff. Maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitude and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, visitors, and/or co-workers. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Salary: $44.00 - $60.00 per hour based on experience. Sign on Bonus: $7,500. Preferred: Certified in CT. EDUCATION ARRT and/or NMTCB certified. AAS or BS preferred. AAS or equivalent such as an accredited program of Radiologic Technology. CERTIFICATIONS / SKILLS Customer Service, Communication, Partnering, Problem-Solving. Must maintain BLS certification. IV injection certified or willing to obtain. #J-18808-Ljbffr
