Experience: Entry-level or experienced imaging professionals with interventional technology experience; cath lab experience preferred.
License: Current Basic Life Support required upon hire.
Certifications: ARRT(RT), RCES, or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
Must-Have: A graduate of a post-secondary educational program in health science, completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program accepted.


Description:
The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor and treat conditions, defects, and diseases without surgery.
This position is intended for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or experienced Imaging professionals wishing to begin a career in the discipline.
Job Responsibilities include:
Assisting Providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management.
Utilizing a variety of highly specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Ensuring procedures are performed safely and with the highest quality standards while maintaining a patient-centric focus.
Preparing patients for procedures and providing comfort.
Acting as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures.
Maintaining a strict sterile field and adhering to safety protocols.
Responding to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected results.
Collaborating with team members to provide exceptional patient care.
Conducting post-testing quality reviews to confirm all required elements are completed and documented.
Transferring images and data to the appropriate electronic health system and preparing studies for reporting by physicians.
Performing quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and equipment maintenance tasks per guidelines.
Assisting with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested.
Providing on-call clinical coverage outside scheduled hours as assigned.
Supporting academic partnerships by engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.
Serving as a departmental preceptor for instruction and mentorship of new or less experienced team members.
Assisting with onboarding of new team members.
Performing other duties as assigned.
