Interact with patients, physicians, and other members of a multi-disciplinary clinical team to create an exceptional patient experience. Performs administrative duties with patient registration operations in designated outpatient clinic settings.# **Job Description:****Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Billing and Collections Support: Manage self-pay accounts, follow up on outstanding balances, and arrange payment plans in line with policy.* Cost Estimation and Financial Counseling: Provide pre-treatment cost estimates and explain deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments to patients.* Insurance and Benefit Verification: Confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage limits before services are rendered.* Resolve coverage disputes and obtain necessary authorizations.* Support check-in and check-out processes for patients and schedule appointments/fill in when needed.* Weekly deposits for Wayne Health departments as needed.* Performs other related duties as assigned.**Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training:*** High school diploma or equivalent required.* Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.* Experience in third-party billing preferred.**Skills and Abilities:*** Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive financial discussions empathetically.* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and have a high level of customer service skills.* Knowledge of insurance policies, billing practices, and financial aid programs including insurance EOB/COB.* Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and billing systems.* Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.* Ability to work independently.* Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.* Travel to other locations if needed.**Safety Requirements:*** Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures.**Working Conditions/Schedule:*** 40-hour work week, hours, and days to be determined by the business needs of the department.
