Ready Mix Driver

Position Description Drive a commercially licensed ready-mix truck for the purpose of hauling ready mix to job sites. Apply chutes to the truck and align the chutes to distribute concrete where necessary. Duties and responsibilities Perform pre-trip inspection according to DOT regulations. Must be able to kneel, reach, and maneuver under truck with approximately 2-feet of clearance to properly inspect and/or repair truck/trailer Must be able to climb ladder on the side of the truck to inspect/clean the drum/chutes Check all fluid levels daily, fill out daily maintenance checklist, and perform daily walk-around inspection, to include greasing as necessary, of equipment Report need for large repairs to appropriate parties Maintain driver’s log according to DOT regulations and complete timecards legibly and accurately Comply with company and DOT Drug & Alcohol regulations Comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations Haul materials in a ready-mix truck Operate the truck to obtain the necessary consistency of concrete Follow supervisor’s instruction on material pickup and delivery procedures All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations Position Requirements Qualifications Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (Class A CDL) Must be legally able to drive a manual truck Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment Working conditions Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises 40+ hours per week Physical requirements Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds Health Insurance, 401K with Company Match, Employee Assistance Program, Sign-On Bonus #APS Equal Opportunity Employer Asphalt Paving and Supply Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
