Job Summary Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly qualified individuals with a strong background in business intelligence, data warehousing, data mining, ETL processes, and data reporting to apply for the Business Intelligence Engineer position. The role involves designing and developing data models for the data warehouse, monitoring ETL processes, and providing technical support for systems and BI tools. Key Responsibilities Design and develop data models for the data warehouse. Monitor and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes. Provide technical support for business intelligence systems and tools. Ensure data quality and consistency across systems. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data requirements. Implement and maintain data pipelines on cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud). Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot issues related to data and ETL. Required Knowledge Database programming languages. Relational and non‑relational SQL. Business Intelligence, data lake, and data warehousing concepts and tools. Semantic modeling components. Data acquisition, mining, ETL strategies, and tools. Data analysis and root cause analysis. Software engineering principles in Unix/Linux/Windows environments and version control. Data platform support in cloud environments. Reporting analytics and data visualization tools. Data design patterns for data lakehouses such as the Medallion Architecture. Experience: Five years of business intelligence and reporting experience, including three years of designing and implementing data warehouses, data mining, ETL, and BI. A valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation or ability to obtain transportation between job sites may be required.
