Workday Program Manager

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Workday Program Manager to lead a multi-track Workday implementation currently underway. This is a hands-on, get-it-done role rather than a purely strategic one.

• Own and maintain the overall Workday program: build and manage the roadmap, work plan, individual project plans, sequencing, and resourcing across all active tracks and future initiatives.
• Build and manage the work breakdown structure and cross-track dependencies, keeping consultants, internal teams, and business stakeholders moving in sync.
• Act as the practical, get-it-done program lead — pushing back on the business where needed, while scaling process to match the organization's current maturity level.
• Identify and escalate risks, blockers, and organizational impasses rather than attempt to resolve them personally.
• Drive a phased rollout plan, sequencing domestic go-lives ahead of international expansion.
• Coordinate with the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) to use existing templates and governance.
• Manage remobilization of the systems integrator (SI) once the plan is approved.
• Report progress, timeline, and risk to program sponsorship and business ownership on a regular cadence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience program-managing a Workday implementation (HCM required; Payroll, Financials, or other modules a plus).
• Comfort building and maintaining roadmaps, work breakdown structures, and cross-track dependency maps from scratch.
• Strong vendor and SI management experience, including remobilizing paused engagements.
• Ability to operate at the maturity level of the organization — pragmatic, adaptable, and focused on progress over process for its own sake.
• Experience navigating multi-country or multi-entity rollouts, including awareness of international labor requirements, is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills; comfortable escalating organizational risk without personally trying to resolve it.
• PMP, Workday certification, or equivalent program management credential preferred but not required.

• Location: remote acceptable; Central Time zone preferred.
