Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups and works well with individuals and teams spread across geographical time-zones. Technical Skills/ backgroundStrong understanding of VLSI and ASIC physical designShould have basic understanding of PLLs and clock networksShould be familiar with design elements like flip flops, latches, memories, and basic CMOS logic gatesExperience using a static timing analysis tool. Preferably Synopsys PrimeTime and/or Cadence Tempus. Ability to create and debug timing constraintsAbility to understand and debug warning and error messages from the timing toolAbility to generate and understand timing reportsUnderstanding of basic STA conceptsSolid understanding of RC networks and how they affect the timing/propagation of signalsUnderstanding of Signal Integrity, Crosstalk Delay, and Glitch/Noise AnalysisUnderstanding of setup analysis, hold analysis, and other timing checksAbility to understand and create timing diagramsPreferred understanding of more advanced STA conceptsPOCV/SOCV/LVF modeling of variationMIS - multi input switchingCCS/ECSM/NLDM - liberty timing modelsPBA - path based analysisLOCV/SOCV - location aware timing deratesExperience on timing SOIC/ 3DIC designs a plusExperience using SPICE analysisCoding experience TCL is required. Experience with at least one or two other coding languages is preferred Communication and organizational skillsMust have the ability to work and clearly communicate with multiple engineers and teams across geographiesMust have the ability to work with and organize large amounts of dataMust be able to organize and present data in a clear mannerMust be able to manage a large variety of tasksStrong ability to debug problems and create solutionsSTA requires a person with strong engineering capabilities and good engineering judgement.
