Universal Machine & Tool Co., Inc. is a small family-owned machining and fabrication business with approximately 40 employees operating under multiple-roof facilities covering 66,000 sq. ft. located in the Brookside Industrial Park in Kingsport, TN. Since 1988 we have been serving the local and nationwide industrial sectors specializing in unique parts, tight-tolerance precision machining and oversize machining and fabrication.

We have multiple openings in both our milling and turning departments for programmer / setup machinists operating a full complement of CNC Haas, Doosan, Ikegai, Fadal, and Mazak machine tools. We have positions available for individuals proficient with G-code to program unique parts from detailed or complex drawings, perform machine setup and execute manufacturing.

Requirement : Applicants called in first round selections must successfully complete a 45-question multiple choice proficiency test to validate knowledge of G-Code programming and setup machining for advancement to management interview rounds. We do not currently have any positions open for operators using canned programs.

For consideration of first round call-back candidates will have:

• a strong work history that exhibits required knowledge with a minimum of 2-years programming and minimum of 5-years setup machining experience
• solid understanding of general tooling
• the ability to interpret detailed and complex drawings and write programs using G-code
• proficiency utilizing a variety of machining gages including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and other gages as required
• must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to complete work independently
• must own basic tradesman tools to perform duties effectively and efficiently

*The pay scale displayed is generic, starting pay will be commensurate to experience with available raises to skill level demonstrated within 90-day probationary period.
