Collections Specialist - Denials - Patient Accounts - 15604 Maury Regional:Main Campus or Hybrid | Clerical/Administrative | Full-Time Description JOB TITLE: Collections Specialist - Denials LOCATION: Maury Regional Medical Center - Columbia, TN SHIFT: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (several schedules to choose from 6a-6p)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Collection Specialist is responsible for performing credit analysis on all account in a credit status, document accurately and clearly if the claim is paid correctly according to contract, document accurately, clearly and give specific details if the claim is paid incorrectly and requires an underpayment appeals or over payment refund. Identify patient liability and know when and how to transfer balance to the patient. Know how to determine if an overpayment is the result of a patient payment or an insurance payment. Process patient and insurance refunds for overpayments. Process payment transfers to have monies applied correctly. Works closely with Contract department ensure compliance with contracts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

3 Years of Related Experience in Medical or Hospital Setting Required High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
