Planning Analyst

Production Planning Analyst Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world. This position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. Responsibilities Plan and schedule production work centers, monitor output to meet customer requirements, and improve operational efficiency. Communicate effectively with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, and Operations teams, and participate in the Tier process. Work closely with business, manufacturing team, value stream leadership, and Supply Planners to prioritize and resolve supply constraints and balance service, inventory, and cost to meet business targets. Manage parameter settings such as production lot sizes, cycles, and safety stocks to achieve the desired inventory-service balance. Identify, resolve, and elevate production constraints; maintain working and non‑working inventories to comply with inventory investment targets. Execute the production planning standard work using supply chain tools, IT systems, and processes; provide robust planning analysis to support data‑driven decisions. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects that enhance customer service, inventory investment, flow, and supply chain efficiency. Qualifications and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified before start) from an accredited institution. Additional: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Analytics. ASCM (APICS) CPIM certification preferred. Two years of combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing. Experience with SAP ERP software. Experience with 3M systems such as Factory Planner, PMCS/IMES, and Peoplesoft. Experience in production planning and knowledge of SP, DP, and IBP processes. Strong data mining, analysis, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self‑motivational skills. Cross‑functional team experience. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Work Location Cottage Grove, MN. Benefits and Compensation The expected compensation range is $84,595 – $103,394, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay if eligible.
