At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget./ppJob Purpose/Overview/ppSenior Specimen Processors are responsible for processing samples that may require extra attention and experience such as manifest or problem submissions from clients./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities/pulliReceives and prepares samples for distribution to main laboratory./liliRemoves specimens from transport bags and splits as needed for multiple testing./liliRetrieves and prepares add-ons and rechecks./liliAccurately process Avian/Exotic, manifest, and problem specimens at expected rate./liliMeets department production goals per hour and shift/liliRecords information about specimens. Label and numbers of slides, specimens, and submittals. Enters specimen data into database, scan tubes, process ZLOOK, and other postproduction duties as required. Verifies accuracy of information./liliCompletes Add Log/recheck specimens in a timely and thorough manner./liliMay assists Leads/Supervisors with training/liliAssist other lab personnel with specimen storage/liliSort samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.)./liliEnsure Turn Around Times (TATs) are met./liliFollows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed./liliParticipates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation./liliConsults with senior peers on processing tasks to learn through experience./liliWorks on specimen processing tasks that are semi-routine in nature without deviating from SOPs./liliParticipate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned./liliAll other duties as assigned./li/ulpWe share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values./ppEducation and Experience/pulliHigh School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience required, preferably in a Science-related field./lili6 months of specimen processing experience preferred./li/ulpKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities/pulliAttention to detail and organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment/liliReasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues/liliCommunication skills, both verbal and written/liliProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions/liliPositive, can-do attitude/liliData Entry skills/liliPersonal computer skills, including typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office/li/ulpTravel/ppTravel may be required/ppWorking Conditions/pulliStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours./liliConstantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently./liliOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch/liliRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs./liliExtended hours may be needed/liliLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE./liliWork under close to moderate supervision./liliPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
