Lending Officer

Overview Manage the daily operations of the Bank’s main line of business by consulting with senior officers of member institutions regarding credit products and initiatives such as advances, lines of credit, and letters of credit. Ensure member compliance with the Bank’s capital plan and oversee member stock transactions. Responsibilities Advances Operations / Lending: Consult senior officers on credit programs, pricing, and risk management; communicate policies; perform initial credit risk determinations; review and execute advance requests; collaborate with Treasury on pricing; produce documentation for approval or denial; support inside sales; assist in restructuring existing advances; negotiate letter of credit details. Capital Stock Operations: Manage member-owned capital stock transactions (purchases, redemptions, dividends, repurchases); ensure compliance with federal regulations; calculate member stock requirements; process daily stock purchases. Credit Product Management: Review pricing from wholesale funding sources; facilitate promotional activities; coordinate specials with Business Development, Treasury, and other departments. Reporting & Computer Processing: Produce scheduled and ad‑hoc reports on credit products, capital stock, and membership; use Excel and Access.; maintain controls over end‑user computing applications; coordinate business continuity planning; test transactional system changes. Product Development: Research and develop new credit products; participate in stakeholder meetings and calls with the Associate Director, Advances and Business Development teams. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Management; MBA preferred. Minimum of four years’ experience in a financial institution, preferably in capital markets, lending, or financial analysis. Management experience may offset requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with top management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong decision‑making, multitasking, and analytical abilities; detail‑oriented. Clean criminal history; no civil or criminal convictions that would pose a risk to the Bank. Full‑time availability. Commitment to upholding the Bank’s Guiding Principles. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $93,000 – $110,000. Flexible hybrid workforce model: onsite three days a week, optional remote days. Up to 6% 401(k) match plus an additional 4% contribution. Tuition reimbursement assistance. Student loan repayment assistance. Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance.
