Job Description

The Barricade Technician safely operates a flatbed truck and forklift to deliver, place, load, and unload security blockades at various construction sites. This role combines professional driving, equipment operation, and general labor in an open-air warehouse and field environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive a flatbed truck to deliver security blockades to multiple construction sites in a safe and compliant manner.
• Operate a forklift to load security blockades and related materials onto flatbed and box trucks at the warehouse.
• Unload security blockades at job sites using a forklift and appropriate hand tools.
• Secure loads properly on trucks to ensure safe transport and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Perform general labor tasks associated with loading, unloading, and positioning security blockades at construction sites.
• Inspect trucks, forklifts, and related equipment before use to identify and report any safety or maintenance issues.
• Follow site-specific safety procedures while working around active construction areas and in outdoor conditions.
• Coordinate with warehouse and site personnel to ensure accurate delivery, placement, and pickup of materials.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, pickups, and equipment usage as required.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably with flatbed or box trucks.
• At least 2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Proficiency in operating flatbed trucks, box trucks, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Ability to use hand tools for securing, loading, and unloading materials.
• Experience with truck loading and unloading, including proper load securement.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and positioning heavy materials.
• Strong awareness of safety practices in warehouse and construction site environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with working in and around construction sites.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Basic documentation and record-keeping skills related to deliveries and equipment use.

Work Environment

This role is based in an open-air warehouse facility and frequently requires work at construction sites. The work is performed both in the warehouse and outdoors, often in hot weather and around active construction areas. The position involves regular use of flatbed and box trucks, forklifts, and hand tools, as well as physical tasks related to loading, unloading, and general labor. Standard work attire suitable for warehouse and construction environments is expected, with appropriate safety gear as required

This is a Contract position based out of Delray Beach, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
