Student Researcher

Department Student Emp College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Job Summary/Basic Function The Student Researcher will work closely with Criminology and Sociology faculty in the Department of Social Sciences to support an ongoing research project. Responsibilities include conducting literature reviews on assigned topics; locating, evaluating, and summarizing scholarly sources; compiling information and data from primary and secondary sources; and assisting with data collection, organization, and management. The student will perform descriptive and exploratory analyses using both qualitative and quantitative methods, prepare summaries of research findings, and assist with reports and conference presentations. Candidates should possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred qualifications include experience with statistical analysis software programs like SPSS or Stata. The ability to work independently, maintain accuracy, and meet project deadlines is essential.
