About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong background in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Description: RN - MedSurg/Tele requires specialized knowledge and skills. This position involves providing direct and indirect patient care. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team is essential. Solid written and oral communication skills are required. Must tolerate moderate to high stress levels. Experience in reading telemetry strips is necessary. Responsibilities include managing chest tubes, trach care, and performing lab draws. Patient types include general medicine such as diabetes, gastrointestinal, respiratory, renal, and wound care. Expected patient ratios are RN: 5-6:1 and CNA: 8:1. Support within the department includes CNAs and charge nurses. Available resources include a phlebotomy team and telemetry monitoring. Familiarity with technology such as EMR systems and medication dispensing machines is important. Unit culture emphasizes patient-centered care, reliability, and teamwork.
