Physician Assistant OpportunityKoniag Professional Services (KPS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Physician Assistant to support KPS and our government customer in support of the Albany Military Entrance Processing Station. This position is for a future business opportunity.Work Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of 06:00 to 17:00 pm (remain flexible) Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise. Primary location of performance is: 11 A Clinton Avenue Albany NY, 12207We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more.The Physician Assistant is responsible for performing a review of military service applicants' medical histories, performing medical evaluations, and conducting reviews of medical test results and documents, with an end goal of determining whether the applicant meets the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at one of the USMEPCOM geographically dispersed facilities.Responsibilities:Conduct medical histories and physical examinations.Assess eligibility of applicants based on Department of Defense (DoD) medical standards.Review of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical historiesSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.Assess applicant medical documentation and render their medical opinion on an applicant's medical fitness for programs applying forApply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications.Become proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service.Provide highest regard to applicant dignity.Abide by and follow IAW, Privacy Act and HIPPAParticipate in MEPS local, medical peer reviews.Use Philosophy Known as "Red Carpet Treatment"Comply with all installation policies and procedures.Access and update electronic medical documentation,Access and respond to e-mail communications and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues.Effectively communicate with all parties and other providersOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:US Citizenship is required by the government customerAbility to successfully meet the background investigation requirementsMaster's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.Must have a current, active unrestricted license to practice as a PA in the state of employment.National certification (NCCPA) requiredStrong clinical skills and knowledge of medical best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Current BLS through the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationPossess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin IslandsMinimum of one (1) year experience, post-graduate trainingPossess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills session.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Possess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic medical documentation, access and respond to e-mail communications, and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues. This includes keyboard data entry of all medical record entries, consults and applicant medical processingAbility to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providersAbility to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgement and demonstrating sound decision-making skillsPossess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivityAbility to complete Genesis training requirements for medical documentationExperience in collecting, organizing, recording and communicating, while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnairesKnowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and health care fields to include obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatric, orthopedic, internal medicine and mental healthPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
