Job Description Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse, culturally competent staff. The Program Support and Credentialing Specialist will support the VCCS’s and CCWA’s mission by expanding capacity to support students pursuing IT credentials. This position assists in significantly increasing student pass rates for industry-recognized IT credentials through structured exam coordination, progress tracking, and targeted student support. The role also supports increasing FastForward Credential attainment by providing excellent customer service to students and clients, managing program data, setting up classes and rooms, handling student registrations, processing grants, communicating with instructors, and billing. Additionally, the specialist provides administrative support for CCWA’s IT and Business programming, including registration assistance, tuition assistance processing, and acting as a liaison to third‑party vendors, partners, proctors, instructors, and students. The specialist oversees class preparation, basic technology support, and reporting with minimal supervision and a high level of customer service. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Required Qualifications Experience with credentialing, testing coordination, or workforce training programs. Strong knowledge of administrative and office support functions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and web‑based systems. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective oral and written communication skills with diverse and multi‑generational populations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while providing excellent customer service. Ability to interpret, communicate, and follow policies and procedures, and research/resolve issues independently. Ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate tasks efficiently. Working knowledge of financial aid or similar regulatory processes. Additional Considerations Post‑secondary education in office administration, business, or a related field. Experience in IT or workforce development environments. Experience communicating with corporate and government agencies. Experience using computer‑based student information systems and financial reports. Travel Travel among CCWA and Reynolds sites as needed.
