Cost Accountant

We're looking to hire a sharp Cost Accountant for our client located near Fontana, California. Essential Functions: Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly accounting close and reporting requirements in compliance with GAAP, including reporting results and analyzing variances for multiple locations. Ensure that standard costs and all accounting entries are processed timely, accurately, and meet the cost improvement objectives set by Operations. Review standard costs for inaccuracies and complete margin reviews. Develop, maintain, and update standard costs and assist with standard cost roll on an annual basis. Analyze actual labor, material and overhead cost against Standard/Budget and report variances. Prepare cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts. Analyze and reconcile the inventory on hand reports to the general ledger and propose journal entries as well as provide monthly schedules showing the same. Analyze and prepare inventory analysis to determine obsolescence and slow-moving inventory reserve. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
