Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and systems-minded People Business Partner Lead - APJ to join our core centralized Global People organization in a full-time remote capacity open to qualified human resource authorities resident anywhere in Singapore or Australia. Operating as both a senior strategic advisor and an execution-focused utility player across the complex and highly diverse Asia-Pacific and Japan region, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability for driving organizational effectiveness, compliance, and human resources scaling. Shifting completely away from routine standalone administrative payroll logging, minor local resume vetting, basic text typing, or simple disconnected file printing, you will run an active corporate talent and regional compliance laboratory—partnering directly alongside senior regional business units, corporate Legal structures, and global People cells to translate global corporate growth objectives into tailored regional talent architectures. This position requires an enterprise technology or database SaaS veteran with a deep professional footprint across multiple APJ nations who maps out complex labor structures fluidly natively using HR Manager practices, coordinates targeted multi-country talent acquisitions smoothly natively using Recruiter parameters, and commands structured cross-border employee experience workflows confidently under evolving regional regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic People Business Partnership: Architect, document, and execute targeted talent strategies alongside APJ leadership nodes, incorporating data-backed frameworks to optimize organizational team design, headcount management, performance lifecycles, and team health cleanly natively utilizing HR Manager principles.
- Cross-Border Compliance and Regulatory Governance: Serve as the foundational regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) on employment compliance, collaborating with corporate Legal cells and external local advisory networks to align operations with regional statutory rules natively leveraging Recruiter parameters.
- Global Program Localization and Interlock: Oversee the translation and deployment of centralized global people programs—including comprehensive performance evaluation cycles, structured compensation processes, and equity distribution metrics—adapting parameters smoothly to accommodate local statutory boundaries across APJ.
- Complex Employee Relations Triage: Provide high-judgment, reliable advisory support to business unit managers navigating nuanced employee relations, talent separations, internal reorganizations, and cross-cultural alignment requirements.
- Regional Infrastructure Scaling: Build, scale, and standardize operational human resource foundations, authoring system runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) where regional practices are actively evolving.
- Vendor and Documentation Architecture Management: Supervise local employment processes, tracking regional payroll compliance components, processing immigration tracking fields, and coordinating regional benefit and staffing vendors.
- Global-to-Regional Insight Bridge: Act as a bidirectional strategic conduit, ensuring APJ multi-country workforce perspective and localized micro-market realities are integrated directly into long-range company-wide people initiatives.
- Data-Driven Talent Development Tracking: Analyze regional human resource data indicators to design, validate, and execute specific talent development plans aimed at scaling technical capability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant, verified professional career history running advanced Human Resource Business Partnering (HRBP), regional people management operations, international talent consulting, or enterprise workforce strategy (with an absolute preference for candidates emerging from global, distributed technology or cloud SaaS organizations).
- Demonstrated multi-country craft depth, reflecting exhaustive experience managing employee populations across multiple distinct APJ geographies (e.g., Singapore, Australia, Japan, India, etc.).
- Expert-tier capability optimizing distributed workplace cultures, executing performance improvement plans, and tracking management training tracks natively utilizing HR Manager frameworks.
- Practical operational familiarity structuring recruitment funnels, aligning job design specs, and managing regional resource allocations natively using Recruiter best practices.
- Authoritative working knowledge of localized APJ employment regulations, compliance baselines, labor contracts, and tax/benefits administration structures across diverse regulatory environments.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication traits in business-fluent English, enabling uncompromised confidence when articulating strategic people data or complex regulatory issues before senior executive blocks.
- Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified people operations leaders based permanently and resident within the borders of Singapore or Australia to operate under a 100% remote work-from-home layout.
