Senior AI Infrastructure Engineer - Data Platforms

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• At least five years of applied infrastructure engineering experience, supported by formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts.
• Knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines, such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessment.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI tools in infrastructure workflows, with sound validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to assess AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalate uncertainty, and ensure outcomes meet resilience, security, and auditability expectations.
• Expertise in specific infrastructure technologies and programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, including the ability to operate across and migrate between public and private clouds.
• Experience designing and delivering production systems with demanding non-functional requirements, including resilience, scalability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
• Working knowledge of enterprise technology risk and controls, such as SDLC controls, change management, access controls, auditability, and data handling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery in a matrixed organization, influence partners, remove blockers, and achieve results across teams and functions.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, including API and service design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing strategy, CI/CD, and observability through logs, metrics, and traces.
• Experience mentoring and guiding engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical feedback.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Mainframe and Midrange automation, operational tooling, and platform management.
• Preferred: Exposure to production agentic AI patterns and controls, including human-in-the-loop design, guardrails, prompt and tool governance, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Preferred: Experience working with SRE and operations teams on reliability and operational efficiency, such as reducing toil, automating incident response, or modernizing runbooks.
• Preferred: Experience integrating heterogeneous infrastructure systems, such as job schedulers, monitoring and alerting, ticketing workflows, and configuration systems.
• Preferred: Financial services or comparable regulated-industry experience, including familiarity with governance, controls, and audit expectations.

• Apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methods to analyze complex data and systems, anticipate issues, assess upstream and downstream effects, and advise on mitigations.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to analyze complex infrastructure signals and document mitigation options, validating results and handling operational data in line with sensitivity and security requirements.
• Partner with other platforms to architect and implement changes that resolve issues and modernize technology and organizational processes.
• Drive delivery of multiple complex programs and provide thought leadership across the product line.
• Deliver infrastructure engineering aligned with business needs, compliance standards, risk and security requirements, and business objectives.
• Promote reuse-first AI-assisted practices in delivery and automation to reduce recurring issues, ensuring changes are validated, traceable, auditable, resilient, and secure.
• Architect, build, and maintain secure, auditable, production-grade agentic AI solutions that automate manual or repetitive infrastructure management tasks.
• Contribute to tooling strategy and vendor or product assessments by prototyping, conducting technical due diligence, and recommending suitable approaches for Mainframe and Midrange automation.
• Work with operations, SRE, architecture, risk, and control teams to implement AI capabilities safely and transparently, in accordance with company policies and regulatory expectations.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code and design reviews, and technical coaching, helping strengthen sustainable technical leadership across the organization.
