Registered Dietitian

Location: Bronx, NY
Pay Rate: $40 - $45/hour
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 45 Hours Weekly

Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutrition care services within a behavioral health and psychiatric healthcare setting. The Dietitian will conduct nutritional assessments, develop individualized care plans, provide medical nutrition therapy, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients

• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans

• Provide medical nutrition therapy based on patient needs and diagnoses

• Monitor patient nutritional status and treatment progress

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Educate patients, families, and staff on nutrition and therapeutic diets

• Document assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately

• Participate in menu planning and nutrition-related quality improvement initiatives

• Monitor dietary intake, tolerance, and adherence to prescribed nutrition plans

• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards

• Support behavioral health nutrition programs and patient wellness initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Related Field

• Completion of an Accredited Dietetic Internship

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) Credential Required

• New York State CDN License (or eligibility to obtain)

• Strong Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy and Therapeutic Diets

• Excellent Communication and Documentation Skills

• Ability to Work in a Behavioral Health Environment

• Strong Interdisciplinary Collaboration Skills

• Commitment to Culturally Competent Patient Care
