Responsibilities

• Greenfield development as well as improving current platform architecture, backend services, APIs, and systems written in TypeScript & Node.
• Design, optimize, and implement efficient data structures in MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• Enhance search capabilities and recommendation systems data pipelines to manage and process large-scale data efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse services and data sources.
• Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for scalable solutions.
• Ensure high performance, security, and availability of backend infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in both development and production environments.
• Contribute to architectural discussions, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the team.

Requirements

• 6-12 years of experience and track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale.
• Recent production experience building backend services and APIs using Node.js & TypeScript.
• Experience with building APIs end to end and event-driven software or Microservices.
• Experience with setting up data infrastructure, ETL, and large scale data systems and various tools such as MongoDB.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services, Terraform was a big plus.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to architectural decisions.

Preferred

• Previous experience at both startup environments and larger tech companies like Twitter or Meta.
• Demonstrated ability to design and build systems from scratch including data infrastructure.
