Registered Nurse RN

Role: Senior Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in SANE/Forensic nursing, focusing on patient care for victims of violence and sexual assault. Responsibilities: Conduct trauma-informed forensic examinations, document injuries with detailed reports and photographs, and perform legal blood draws at law enforcement requests. Provide education on forensic specimen collection, treatment, and discharge planning. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring confidentiality and respecting cultural needs. Collaborate with law enforcement, legal entities, and healthcare teams, and testify in court as needed. Mentor and train new forensic nurses, participate in quality assurance, and stay current with forensic nursing practices. Develop policies, improve workflows, and ensure compliance with laws and standards. Qualifications & Skills: Must have a valid RN license, current BLS certification, and SANE-CA or SANE-A certification (or actively working toward it). Minimum of two years of recent RN experience in acute care settings such as emergency, trauma, or ICU. Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide non-judgmental, patient-centered care and exercise independent judgment. Capable of training staff and contributing to educational programs. Key Duties: Deliver specialized forensic nursing care, support victims through medical and legal processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
