Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care and monitoring to patients recovering from surgical or procedural interventions
- Assess, document, and respond to changes in patient condition throughout the recovery phase
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient transitions
- Administer medications and interventions as ordered, following established PACU protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record system
- Be prepared to serve on an emergency response team and remain at the facility or participate in relief efforts during declared emergency events as directed by unit management
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience required
- Current AHA-issued BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as verified by address on driver's license)
- Current NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission
- Two manager or supervisor references required prior to start (Charge RN references are not accepted); references must be submitted in PDF format
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system strongly preferred, particularly for first-time travelers
- Candidates with extensive PACU experience and Epic familiarity will be given priority consideration
