1st Shift Accounts Payable Clerk

Pay is $23/hr

Location: Cherryville, NC
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team within a custom metal fabrication facility. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling statements, preparing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records while providing administrative support to the office.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare and process weekly/monthly vendor payments.
• Upload payment files and maintain payment records.
• Reconcile company credit card statements.
• Maintain records for property taxes and company vehicle registrations.
• Assist with month-end closing activities.
• Respond to vendor inquiries by phone and email.
• File accounting documents and maintain organized records.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with general office duties.
• Support the Accounting Manager and office staff with additional administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
• Previous Accounts Payable or accounting experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience is a plus.
• Strong data entry and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with accounting software preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
