Payroll Support Manager

The Payroll Support Manager position oversees a group of Payroll Support Supervisors and helps to ensure that payroll processes are carried out in accordance with federal, state, municipal, and AutoNation guidelines. A Payroll Support Manager is responsible for hiring and training Payroll Support Coordinators and Payroll Support Supervisors and for directing their activitiesJob Responsibilities:Manage payroll escalations to resolve concerns, errors, etc., with National Payroll Center (NPRC), Human Resources, Field Associates, or store leadershipEnsure Service Level Agreement attainment and high customer satisfactionSupport the continuous development and career growth of payroll team, and actively engage in periodic performance review processIdentify and implement opportunities for improvement to efficiency and effectiveness in store supportIdentify and on process improvements to optimize communication flow and payroll processingSupport payroll data requests, as needed, to address requests from key stakeholders, such as Finance and Human ResourcesPrepare and finalize weekly, quarterly, and yearly payroll reporting documentationRemain current on legal, regulatory, and/or government requirements (e.g., wages, hours, missed meals, etc.), and identify impact to modify process execution accordinglyOversee the preparation of required reports and validate information for government agencies, insurance companies, or other organizations, as neededEnsure completion and accuracy of relevant forms (i.e., journal entries, accounting classifications, etc.) for month-end and year-end payroll proceduresCross-train on other positions within department and be available to fill in, as neededQualifications:Associate or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)Minimum five years’ experience calculating and processing in-house payroll, with some automotive dealership experience preferredStrong knowledge of federal, state, municipality, and AutoNation payroll requirements to ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, company deductions, and government complianceWorking knowledge of dealership processesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when communicating with store personnelStrong coaching and employee development skillsStrong customer service and problem-solvingExcellent organizational and follow-up skillsTeam player with willingness to assist payroll team during high-volume timesHighly proficient in payroll-related software (i.e., ADP Payroll)Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)ㅤ$82,500.00 - $137,500.00ㅤExciting Benefits and Perks Await You:Competitive compensation and 401k matchingEnjoy a healthy work-life balance with insurance plans (health, dental, vision) and maternity benefits.Associate purchase and discount programs for new and pre-owned vehicles, services, parts, collision, accessories, and AutoGearAccess amazing deals and discounts through YouDecide, a website with offers from top providers and retailersJoin our DRVPNK mission to raise and donate millions of dollars to cancer research and treatment, partnering with cancer charities nationwideAutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, offering innovative products, exceptional services, and comprehensive solutions, empowering our customers to make the best decisions for their needs.
