In this critical role, you will manage property damage, personal injury, and other business claims (whether legal or administrative sources), from initial report through resolution. You will work closely with property managers, insurance carriers, adjusters, contractors, in-house and external counsel to minimize losses, ensure timely claim resolutions, and support our commitment to exceptional operations and property management.The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with experience and strong knowledge of property insurance, claims processing, excellent negotiation skills, and highly organized.Claims & Risk ManagementMaintain database of all property and corporate insurance policies, terms, contacts and limits.Manage the full lifecycle of insurance claims such as property damage, liability, personal injury, etc.Review initial incident reports and coordinate timely communication for Operations to act on mitigation.Handle escalated claims issues and provide or seek guidance for Operations as needed.Coordinate with property owners, carriers and adjusters to ensure accurate and timely process, inspections and settlements.Confer with Operations to negotiate, pass-through tenant damages to Renter’s Insurance, or seek other subrogation opportunities.Maintain detailed claim records in our internal software; prepare claims analytics. Deliver regular status reports to the Executive team on risk and claims.Insurance ManagementMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of all property and corporate insurance policies, certificates of insurance, endorsements, and related documents with our internal software systemsAssist with insurance renewals by reviewing policy terms and providing loss history and supporting underwriting data requests.QualificationsMinimum 2 years of progressive experience in insurance claims handling, with at least 1 year specifically in property management claims - RequiredEither Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance and/or Equivalent experience and professional certification such as Certified or Advanced Claims Professional, or Associate in Claims Management - RequiredDeep understanding of property insurance policies and claims processing - RequiredReliable transportation for occasional site visit - RequiredAbility to travel by air or car for occasional site visit, including overnight stays - RequiredProficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel for claims tracking) - RequiredExperience with QuickBase, Origami Risk, or other claims management software - PreferredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.High attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Additional InformationLocation: Candidates must reside in Dallas, TX (DFW) or Los Angeles, CA areas, or be willing and able to travel there quarterly. A minimum of one quarterly visit to either the Irving, TX or Woodland Hills, CA corporate office is required.
