Job Description\n \n \n Overall Job Summary\n \n \n This position is responsible for proficiency in all areas of a retail operation. The position serves as the second in charge of sales initiatives and functions to the Store Manager. Duties include assisting the Store Manager in providing leadership and direction to the Sales team and Team Leaders, ensuring a positive customer shopping experience and performing operational activities throughout the store. This position is also responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, as well as training Sales Team Members on the appropriate application of policies and procedures. This role is sales driven. Responsibilities include: Driving sales performance and metrics through the team by leading a robust selling culture.\n \n \n \n \n Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)\n \n \n It is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements:\n \n Maintain regular and predictable attendance.\n Deliver financial results\n Work assigned schedules based on business needs. \n Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.\n Take the initiative to support selling initiatives (GURA):\n \n Greet the Customer\n Uncover the Customers’ needs\n Recommend products\n Ask for the Sale\n \n Responsible for all selling metrics including customer experience scores\n Deliver Legendary Service to our customers and drives sales through selling initiatives\n Responsible for having superior product knowledge within the business and creating a culture of continuous product knowledge training within the Sales Team\n Motivates and engages Sales Team Members to ensure they represent and embrace TSC Values and understands TSC’s goals\n Responsible for selling skills training and monthly training for all Sales Team Members\n Fosters a competitive yet collaborative environment throughout the Team to achieve company goals and sales plan\n Assess individual performance through observations and measurements, and suggest coaching as needed\n Have analytical skills to review data, identify the key pieces of information that are most relevant, draw meaningful conclusions and identify actionable takeaway\n Ensures that the sales floor has adequate coverage by assigning Team Members appropriately throughout the day to ensure Legendary Customer Service.\n Assist the Store Manager with leading, coaching and developing the Sales Team Members and Team Leaders on driving company selling initiatives and delivering legendary service.\n This position is required to perform all or a combination of the following duties. \n \n Assist Store Manager in driving sales and profit, customer loyalty, planning, prioritization, and delegating of daily tasks.\n Oversee Sales Team which includes assisting the Store Manager with coaching, hiring, training and development, and maintaining a productive work environment.\n Resolve customer complaints/issues and ensure the customer has a positive experience.\n Train Team Members on the appropriate application of policies and procedures.\n Operate cash register/computer\n Perform Opening/Closing procedures.\n Transport and make deposits to the bank.\n Supervise cash handling procedures.\n Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to any alarm calls as needed.\n Operate Forklift and Baler\n Assist customers with loading purchases.\n Complete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties.\n Obtain license and certifications as needed by the business.\n \n May be required to perform other duties as assigned.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Required Qualifications\n \n \n Experience: Previous retail leadership experience is required. Prior sales and supervisory experience strongly preferred. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.\n Education: High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related field is preferred. Regardless of education level, you must be able to read, write, and count accurately.\n \n \n \n \n Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities\n \n \n \n Ability to perform and execute principle responsibilities of Team Members.\n Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.\n Experience with customer Service and selling skills.\n Excels in a fast paced work environment.\n \n \n \n \n \n Working Conditions\n \n \n Indoor floors and outdoor lots generally are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) lighting and temperature are adequate.\n Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.\n Work shifts vary from one store to another, but generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours\n Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines\n Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise.\n \n \n \n \n Physical Requirements\n \n \n This position is non-sedentary.\n It is essential that Team Members have the physical and mental stamina and ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.\n Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.\n Ability to move and transfer merchandise, weighing up to 50 pounds, throughout the store.\n Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with the assistance of proper material handling equipment (e.g. pallet jack).\n Ability to occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead.\n Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.\n Ability to move throughout the store for an entire shift.\n Ability to safely access all areas of the store including selling floor, side lot, stock area, and register area.\n Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run a store (e.g. dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register) (forklift and baler requirements do not apply if under the age of 18).\n Ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and customers.\n Ability to process information / merchandise through the point-of-sale system.\n Ability to successfully complete training and certification to dispense propane, and to dispense propane (propane certification and dispensing requirement does not apply if under the age of 18).\n Ability to successfully complete all required training.\n Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for business needs.\n Ability to travel as required in support of district needs.\n Ability to constantly operate store equipment such as computer, cash register, and other store equipment.\n Ability to successfully complete training and certification for various business needs.\n \n \n \n \n Disclaimer\n \n \n This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position.
