Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional (SY26/27)

Rocky Mountain Prep Creekside Elementary Charter School

Location: This school-based position is 100% in person at Rocky Mountain Prep Creekside. All school-based staff are essential members of our campus community, working on-site each day alongside students, colleagues, and families to create a strong school community and support student growth and achievement. This position is not remote or hybrid.

  1. Student Achievement: 60% average proficiency on CMAS & PSAT by Spring 2027; zero schools rated Orange or Red on the 2027-28 Colorado School Performance Framework
  2. Financial Sustainability: 5,100 students enrolled, as measured by October Count; $4MM in total philanthropic gifts during the 2026-27 school year
  3. Parent Satisfaction: 90% regular attendance; no more than 10% chronic absenteeism

Our Approach to MI Center Support

At RMP, Multi-Intensive (MI) Center Paraprofessionals play a vital role in ensuring scholars with significant cognitive, behavioral, and communication needs experience rigorous, joyful, and fully accessible learning. Rooted in Rocky Mountain Prep's commitment to equity, love, and high expectations, you provide highly individualized academic, behavioral, communication, and daily living support aligned to each scholar's IEP, implementing intensive behavior and sensory plans, supporting AAC and other communication systems, reinforcing structured routines, and delivering personal care with dignity and respect.


Through trauma-informed practices, strong collaboration with teachers and service providers, and an unwavering belief in every scholar's potential, you help create a safe, inclusive environment where scholars feel seen, valued, and empowered, building foundational skills, independence, and confidence to grow, connect, and thrive.


MI Center Paraprofessionals at Rocky Mountain Prep will...
  • Support instruction and student learning by implementing lesson plans, providing accommodations/modifications, collecting data, and working with individuals or small groups under teacher direction.
  • Reinforce routines, behavior expectations, and social-emotional skills to promote student independence and uphold classroom and school-wide systems.
  • Supervise students to ensure safety during all parts of the school day, including transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal.
  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with lead teachers, school staff, and families to support student success and school goals.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and equity-minded practices that honor student dignity and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Provides personal and medical care as trained (e.g., toileting, hygiene, monitoring) while maintaining student dignity and safety
  • Implements intensive behavior plans and de-escalation strategies using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices
  • Supports communication systems (including AAC), functional life skills, and instructional activities by proactively meeting student needs and taking initiative within daily routines
  • Remains flexible and responsive in a fast-paced MI setting, using feedback and creative problem-solving to adapt supports and continuously improve practice
All Instructional Support Team Members at Rocky Mountain Prep:

Deliver targeted support that accelerates student growth, particularly for those with specialized learning needs or unfinished literacy skills. They partner with teachers and leaders to ensure every scholar has access to rigorous, affirming, and inclusive instruction. Grounded in RMP's values and instructional vision, these team members build strong relationships, maintain high expectations, and adapt to student needs with flexibility and compassion. Through consistent collaboration, data-informed support, and a deep belief in every child's potential, they help eliminate opportunity gaps and foster joyful learning environments.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Provide evidence of completing high school or a GED
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
  • We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience working with scholars with disabilities
  • Experience working with high school students and diverse populations
  • CPI/NCI trained
Salary

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $43,000 to $52,000, based on experience and qualifications.
