This full-time, onsite position will be focused on delivering high-quality mental health care to geriatric patients in the comfort of their own homes. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and treating a broad range of behavioral and psychiatric health disorders for geriatric patients.
• Conducting comprehensive individual, group, and family counseling sessions that are sensitive to the unique challenges faced by older adults.
• Providing tailored psychotherapy interventions, which may include cognitive-behavioral therapy and supportive counseling.
• Managing patient medication regimens, ensuring effectiveness while addressing potential side effects or drug interactions.
• Developing and implementing thorough treatment plans for homebound patients based on a detailed review of medical histories, current symptoms, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Adhering to established standards of care and professional practice guidelines as required in the psychiatric nursing field.
• Collaborating effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, including specialists and primary care providers, to design and adjust treatment plans for high-risk patients.
• Building partnerships with local home health agencies, laboratories, imaging services, and pharmaceutical vendors to optimize patient care.
• Educating patients and their caregivers on self-management strategies to encourage independence and improve mental health.
• Responding promptly and knowledgeably to inquiries from patients and their families, ensuring clarity and understanding regarding treatment processes.
• Maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare standards to protect patient confidentiality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on geriatric patients, who often face complex mental health challenges associated with aging, including depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders. Understanding the unique physical, emotional, and social needs of older adults is crucial to offering effective care.

Qualifications

• A current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in psychiatric mental health.
• An active state nursing license in Nevada.
• A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with substantial familiarity in geriatric mental health preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in explaining complex medical information in an understandable manner to patients and families.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in home health care is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants with a passion for community-based care are encouraged to apply.
• The ability to travel to patient homes around Henderson and surrounding areas is essential, as the role requires 100% travel for home visits.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
