Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 11:00 - 23:00 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Emergency Department License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA, TNCC, NIHSS (must obtain prior to start) Must-Have: 1 year Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma facility. Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice and the Nursing Practice Act. Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications. Demonstrates clinical expertise in their area of responsibility. Must be able to stand and walk most of the time during duty hours. Lifts and pushes patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. Usually works in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. The facility earned a B grade in hospital safety and is known for its unique combination of leading-edge health care and compassionate caregivers. Patient satisfaction is a top priority, with a strong focus on safety and innovation resulting in hospital recognitions. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center.
