Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with cardiac telemetry, step-down, and intermediate care patients Patient ratios ranging from 4:1 or 5:1 up to 6:1 Rotating 3x12-hour night and day shifts Night shift hours 19:00-7:30, day shift hours 7:00-19:30 Every other weekend coverage required Floating within the hospital required, with additional floating to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed Cerner EMR experience preferred Requirements Active RN license (PA or Compact) required Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required 1:6 patient ratio experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias Experience with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal patient care Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac cath/angiogram, and TR Band care Valid driver's license required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration Two supervisor references preferred Additional Information Provide comprehensive PCU-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and dysrhythmia management Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed Must be willing to work every other holiday Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing Demographic sheet must be submitted within 48 hours of signing All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start Approximately 1 hour of pre-start orientation modules required before entering the facility Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible for agency placement Travelers are limited to a cumulative one-year assignment within the health system, followed by a required two-year break before returning Can only be placed at one facility within the health system at a time Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed American Traveler Job ID P- .
