Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in New Jersey, requiring OR circulating and scrubbing experience across major surgical specialties including ortho, neuro, vascular, and robotic.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Surgical specialties include orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, and robotic procedures
• Candidates must be able to both circulate and scrub for major surgical cases
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM, three days per week (36 hours/week)
• On-call is required for this position
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license (NJ or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• Proficiency in both circulating and scrubbing for major surgical specialties required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs pre- and post-operative patient assessments and education, including patient and family teaching
• Delivers individualized perioperative care across the continuum, accounting for procedure type and anesthesia
• Supports Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) order evaluation for appropriateness based on proposed surgery, patient age, and health status
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and dual patient identification
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a break is required before returning to a new assignment
