High School Football Assistant Coach

Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Columbia School District is seeking a High School Assistant Football Coach for the 2026 Football season. The successful Candidates shall: Engage student athletes to persist when experiencing difficulties and feel a sense of accomplishment when they succeed. Represent themselves, our school, and our community in a positive fashion, by consistently demonstrating class and sportsmanship before, during, and after competitions. Develop integrity expressed in sportsmanship and fair play. Student athletes and coaches are held to the highest standard of conduct as ambassadors for our school district and our community. Teach student athletes responsibility, discipline, teamwork, effort-reward relationships, commitment, pride, and fun. Participants will be held accountable to individual team expectations and the school district athletic code, above “winning and losing.” First and foremost relay the idea to student athletes to excel both academically and athletically. Build ownership, trust, and respect in the student athlete, communicate effectively with the student and parents, and enforce standards equitably when problems arise. Have the knowledge, experience, and ability to communicate their expertise in their sport to the student athlete. Pending Season approval. Physical Demands The physical demands represented here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Mobility: Stand and walk for prolonged periods, push or pull 18-26 lbs., sit, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, use hands to type and handle objects, and reach with hands and arms. Sense: Talk, hear conversations and other sounds, communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Taste and smell as required. Specific vision abilities include close, far, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Lifting: Lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs, including overhead lifts. Quick physical movement may be required in emergencies or during student supervision duties. Work Environment: Work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10°F to 100°F+. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level moderate.
