Help Strengthen Support for Staten Island FamiliesVibrant Emotional Health's Family & Youth Peer Support Services connect Staten Island families with advocates who understand what it is like to seek support for a child or young person and can help them navigate complicated systems, transportation challenges, long waits, and other barriers to care.We are seeking a part-time Program Supervisor to provide effective supervision and development to Family and Youth Peer Advocates while building strong relationships with Staten Island organizations, providers, and community partners.The ideal candidate understands family and youth peer support, knows Staten Island's communities and service systems, and can help advocates grow, strengthen referral pathways, and connect more families with responsive, well-coordinated services.Where You'll Make a DifferenceSupervision and Team DevelopmentProvide strengths-based supervision, coaching, and training to Family and Youth Peer AdvocatesHelp staff maintain the values of peer support while meeting documentation, service, and program expectationsSupport staff in navigating complex family situations and maintaining appropriate boundariesComplete staff evaluations and identify professional-development needsAccompany advocates on home, office, and community visits when additional support is neededCommunity Outreach and PartnershipsBuild trusted relationships with schools, healthcare providers, behavioral-health programs, community organizations, and referral partnersRepresent Vibrant and the Staten Island borough alliance at community and stakeholder meetingsIncrease awareness of Family & Youth Peer Support Services and help partners understand how to refer familiesIdentify community needs, service gaps, and opportunities for collaborationStrengthen referral pathways so families can access support more easilyProgram Coordination and AccountabilityOversee referrals, case assignments, staff schedules, and program coverageReview electronic health record documentation and support timely, accurate recordkeepingMonitor service activity and assist with monthly Levels of Service and operational reportingPartner with the Data Analyst and program leadership to identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvementThe Community Leader We NeedThe strongest candidates will understand that Staten Island is not one single community. Families' experiences can vary depending on neighborhood, culture, language, transportation access, financial resources, and their interactions with schools, healthcare, behavioral-health services, child welfare, and other systems.Required Skills/Abilities:Expertise navigating the children's mental health and other child-serving systemsAbility to direct and supervise a program and its staffAbility to gather data and submit reportsPrior experience as Family Peer Advocate (FPA) will be a parent/caregiver of a child who has experienced social, emotional, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges and has 'lived experience' navigating multiple child serving systems on behalf of their child(ren) with social, emotional, developmental, health and/or behavioral healthcare needs.Strong written and verbal communication skillsWork flexible hours, as requiredBilingual and bicultural candidates are encouraged to applyRequired Qualifications:Experienced as a Family Peer Advocate (at least seven years) or Qualified Mental Health Professional with 3-years' experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)High School diploma or equivalentBilingual and bicultural candidates are encouraged to applyCandidates possessing exceptional skill but not all of the qualifications are also encouraged to applyPhysical Requirements:Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone, filing cabinets, photocopiers. Some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessaryAbility to work collaboratively with staff, program participants, service providers and other stakeholdersAbility to remain calm and composed under stressAbility to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation
