Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer - R&D will contribute to the design, integration, and testing of complex medical devices and subsystems that combine electronics, optics, fluidics, and embedded control. Working closely with a Senior Electrical Engineer and the multidisciplinary R&D team, you will help develop and optimize electrical and electronic systems that drive next-generation ECP and cell‑therapy platforms. Job Requirements BS in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline (MS a plus). 0–4 years of experience in product development, preferably in medical devices or other regulated systems. Foundational knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, embedded systems and C/C++ programming. Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensors, and motor control drivers. Experience using electrical design software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or equivalent. Basic understanding of real‑time embedded control and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART). Basic understanding of FDA design controls and safety standards (IEC 60601 preferred). Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills using tools like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and logic analyzers. Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset and curiosity for learning new technologies. Job Responsibilities Support the design, prototyping, and testing of electrical systems and circuit boards for medical devices. Assist in schematic capture, PCB layout, and assembly using electrical CAD tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD). Contribute to embedded system development, including microcontroller interfacing, motor control (C/C++, microcontrollers). Perform electrical testing, data collection, and analysis to validate design performance and reliability. Collaborate with senior electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless subsystem integration. Participate in design reviews, documentation, and verification activities per Therakos design controls and ISO 13485 requirements. Help develop test fixtures, instrumentation setups, and prototypes for bench and system testing. Support root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across product development phases.
