Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Dialysis Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract Benefits Guaranteed hours for Travel Contracts Preferred Booking Agreement for Local Contracts Weekly Pay Holiday Pay Contract Security compared to a contract with an outside agency Minimum Experience 2 years in an Acute Care Setting Required Certification / Licensure (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum of 2 years of experience in dialysis or nephrology nursing (acute or chronic dialysis experience preferred). BLS and ACLS certification required – American Heart Association. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred. Qualifications Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for dialysis patients. Administer hemodialysis treatments in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Monitor patients for complications during dialysis treatments and respond promptly to adverse reactions. Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care. Educate patients and their families on dialysis treatment, medication management, and lifestyle adjustments. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and dialysis records. Operate and maintain dialysis machines and related equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives within the dialysis unit. Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and their families during treatment. Stay current with best practices and advancements in nephrology nursing. Proficiency in operating dialysis machines and understanding of dialysis procedures. Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. Excellent patient assessment and clinical skills.
