Unleash the Power of Communication in Vibrant Charlotte, North Carolina – Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!
What could your career look like if every day you had the chance to change lives through the gift of communication? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic city of Charlotte, your efforts will transcend mere addressing of speech and swallowing disorders. You will ignite potential, instill confidence, and bridge connections among individuals—whether coaching toddlers to articulate their first phrases or aiding seniors in their journey to regaining independence.
This position offers an extraordinary chance to impact a broad range of patients across all stages of life, all within a setting that integrates outpatient services with occasional inpatient interventions. If your heart beats for pediatric speech development, adult communication rehabilitation, or supporting geriatric patients, you will discover immense satisfaction and flexibility here.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for all age groups—pediatric, adult, and geriatric—using both standardized tests and detailed clinical observations.
- Create individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of each patient.
- Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy sessions focusing on language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members to develop integrated care approaches.
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families to reinforce progress between sessions.
- Assist with inpatient evaluations and therapy when necessary, ensuring seamless care throughout the recovery path.
- Keep meticulous and timely documentation that complies with all state, federal, and organization regulations.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.
Education Required
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications Required
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
Key Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for a diverse age bracket, with comprehensive knowledge of both developmental and acquired disorders in speech, language, and swallowing.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to foster relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to customize therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and clinical judgment.
- Competency in using electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
What We Offer
- Attractive compensation that reflects your experience and qualifications.
- Flexible working hours that promote work-life balance across a varied caseload.
- Opportunities to develop expertise in pediatric, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric specialties.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holidays.
- Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Support for professional growth through education reimbursements and skill development.
- A team-oriented work environment focused on delivering high-quality care and continuous learning.
A Career that Cultivates Growth — Both Professionally and Personally
In this fulfilling role, you will do more than deliver speech therapy; you will contribute to a mission within a community that strives for the common goal of restoring voices, fostering communication, and creating joy through the simplest of human interactions: listening and understanding.
You will be surrounded by colleagues who treat each other like family, thriving in an environment that prioritizes collaboration over competition. Every patient has a unique story, and we place great trust in your ability to influence how these narratives unfold.
Why You Will Adore Living and Working Here

The city's artistic spirit is alive in its colorful murals, lively music venues, and vibrant events that showcase a tapestry of cultures and stories from all walks of life. For healthcare professionals, the advantages extend beyond culture; a lack of state income tax, affordable housing, and a flourishing healthcare sector are all reasons why Charlotte is a nurturing place for ambitious careers.
As a new clinician or an experienced therapist eager for a fresh adventure, you'll find a nurturing environment ripe for both personal and professional growth here.
Who We Are Looking For
We seek a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not just by results, but also by compassion. You are someone who sees untapped potential in a reserved child and envisions a future bursting with self-expression, who recognizes determination behind the initially hesitant words of a stroke survivor.
Whether you specialize in pediatrics and wish to diversify into adult services—or come from a neuro-focused background eager to integrate early intervention skills—your passion will resonate with our community-focused mission.
If you are ready to serve wholeheartedly and lead with empathy, we are prepared to welcome you into our family.
Let Us Explore the Journey Together
If you recognize that speech is more than just sound, and therapy is deeper than tasks—if you appreciate building trust as the bedrock of achieving goals and believe in the power of laughter alongside the art of communication—perhaps this is the perfect chapter in your professional journey.
Join us in a nurturing environment that champions communication, connection, and the bravery it takes to start anew. Step forward today to lend your voice to our team and guide others in finding theirs.
