Hardware Configuration Management – Basic Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Hardware Configuration Management (CM) activities supporting the design, development, and production of complex defense systems.
• Manage approved configuration changes using a structured, measurable change control process.
• Develop, maintain, and deliver Engineering Technical Data Packages (TDPs) while ensuring compliance with the Configuration Management Plan.
• Support internal and external configuration management and quality audits.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Configuration Management experience.
• Experience using Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including creating reports, metrics, and technical documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of industry Configuration Management standards and government requirements.
• Familiarity with:
• • MIL-HDBK-61A
  • MIL-STD-31000
  • EIA-649
  • ASME Y14.24
  • ASME Y14.100
• Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.
• Experience managing Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
• Familiarity with CMMI requirements.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in Configuration Management.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within the Defense (DoD) environment.
• Experience using PTC Windchill PLM software.

Education Requirements

Required:

• Technical Associate's Degree or
• 4 years of Configuration Management experience.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline or
• 8 years of Configuration Management experience.
