Instrumentation Coordinator – Lead – Offsite Sterile Processing Department: University Hospital | Off Site Central Sterile Supply Scope of Position: A Lead Instrumentation Coordinator works to prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and clean all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The Lead Instrumentation Coordinator ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections. This position is responsible for ensuring sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered aseptically. Additionally, the role serves as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS off‑site location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise. Responsibilities also include tray movement logistics, standardizing instrument trays, monitoring the OR schedule to ensure timely delivery, and providing clinical orientation for CCS Technicians and Instrumentation Coordinators in coordination with the CSS Educator. Position Summary: Provides leadership in oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow. Responsible for case cart assembly, decontamination, assembly, and high‑level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory, project assistance and process improvement, and promoting customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication across departments. Also responsible for organizing instrument trays on a global level to serve the entire Enterprise consistently. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, CRCST certification, and a minimum of four years’ experience in sterile processing. Additional Information: Location: Kenny Rd, 1900 (0232).
