Qualifications & Desired Experience Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with proven fluency Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings, especially with elementary-aged students, preferred Current applicable certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter Ability to follow school policies and maintain confidentiality Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators and staff Responsibilities Provide interpreting services for a 5th-grade student in a classroom environment and during related school activities Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff to support full participation in educational and social contexts Clarify lesson content, instructions, and classroom discussions to ensure understanding Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to address student needs and progress Maintain accurate records of interpreting sessions in compliance with school and district policies Perks Work within an inclusive, supportive school environment Impactful role fostering student growth and success Structured contract with consistent hours throughout the academic year Compensation for this position ranges from $28.39 to $48.39.
