Sr. Systems Analyst - Commercial Cards Technology - Assistant Vice President

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) with strong business analyst skills to join our team. As an AVP, you will play a critical role in analyzing business requirements and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving strategic initiatives. Your ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with cross‑functional teams will be essential for success. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cutting‑edge software solutions that enhance our Commercial Card offerings. Your expertise in Commercial banking products, payment processing, card products, and industry standards such as TSYS, MasterCard, Bottomline, Fiserv, and SpendLabs will be critical in driving innovation and ensuring seamless customer experiences. This role will report to the head of MUFG Commercial Card technology. Responsibilities Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for technology projects. Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify pain points and areas for optimization. Develop detailed business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications. Work closely with IT teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions. Participate in project planning, testing, and user acceptance activities. Provide ongoing support to business users, troubleshoot issues, and propose enhancements. Assist in data analysis, reporting, and performance measurement. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, operations, and compliance, to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members. Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality assurance processes, and security protocols. Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders to drive innovation and enhance our product offerings. Participate in architectural discussions, system design, and technology evaluations. Design, develop, and maintain applications, infrastructure, and platform according to changing requirements and following established processes and procedures. Facilitate the integration of third‑party services, applications, and functionalities to enhance web performance and increase e‑business success. Monitor, test, analyze, and evaluate application performance; resolve issues and recommend improvements. Provide guidance and technical instruction to junior level engineers. Conduct needs analyses and requirements assessments, assess technical viability of products/technology, contribute to development of business cases, and consult and make recommendations on technical solutions to meet specific business requirements. Test, debug, and oversee the testing and validation of applications to ensure that quality and functionality are in line with the requirements, as well as industry standards and protocols. Troubleshoot issues and problems, develop clear action plans to resolve such issues, and implement agreed solutions into production. Requirements Minimum of 4+ years of hands‑on software development experience. Strong expertise in building and maintaining Commercial Card solutions, including payment processing, card issuance, and transaction management. Solid understanding of Commercial banking products. Experience with TSYS, MasterCard, Bottomline, Fiserv, and SpendLabs card products. Proficiency in microservices architecture, APIs, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Prior experience in financial services, banking, or fintech is a plus. Experience managing teams in Agile environments. General understanding of UI design principles and best practices. Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Compensation and Benefits Typical base pay range: New York / New Jersey: $111–$145; Non‑New York / New Jersey: $106–$130, depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and location. Eligible for discretionary performance‑based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
