Job Description

This role is responsible for the hands-on creation and packaging of meat products in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled production environment. You will work on a production line handling high-quality meats and sausages, operating industrial equipment, and maintaining strict standards of safety, sanitation, and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Handle and process high-quality meats and sausages to maintain a consistent and reliable finished product.
• Place sausage links into Multivac packers and operate packaging machinery safely and efficiently.
• Set up and operate industrial machines such as cutters and metal detectors in accordance with established procedures.
• Move product from sticks into sausage cutters to support continuous production flow.
• Navigate and maneuver full and empty trolleys through the production area to keep materials and products moving smoothly.
• Visually monitor meat quality during production, identify products that are out of specification, and place them in designated rework bins.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, promptly removing debris such as meat and blood, and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Follow recipes accurately, including weighing ingredients and ensuring correct labeling of products.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to meet daily production goals and resolve issues quickly.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and sanitation standards while working in a cold, fast-paced production environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to stand for long periods and to walk, bend, and stoop throughout an entire shift.
• Capability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort working in cold storage environments, typically between 30 and 45 degrees.
• Strong attention to detail when following recipes, weighing ingredients, and ensuring proper product labeling.
• Ability to operate production and packaging equipment such as cutters, Multivac packers, and metal detectors after training.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Familiarity with or willingness to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not always required.
• Previous experience in food production, meat processing, cold storage, or a warehouse environment is typically preferred.
• Food Handler Certificate is frequently required or considered an asset.
• Experience in general labor or general production roles is beneficial.
• Experience working in physically demanding roles, particularly in cold food or cold storage environments, is an advantage.

Work Environment

This position is based in a cold storage food production facility where temperatures routinely range from 30 to 45 degrees. The role involves working on a production line in a fast-paced environment, standing for most of the shift, and performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and moving trolleys. The schedule is a first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. You will work around industrial equipment such as cutters, Multivac packaging machines, and metal detectors, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and strict sanitation standards. Appropriate cold-environment and food-safe attire is required in accordance with facility policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Miami,FL.
