A well-regarded Los Angeles-based law firm is seeking a litigation attorney with solid experience in tort law to join its expanding team. This role is well-suited for a driven professional who enjoys managing cases independently while contributing to a collaborative legal environment, with clear opportunities for long-term growth.
About the Role
You will oversee a range of tort litigation matters, primarily focused on negligence and employment-related liability claims. This position offers the chance to take ownership of cases, develop litigation strategies, and guide matters through all phases of the legal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of tort matters, including negligence and premises liability claims
- Manage cases involving negligent hiring, supervision, training, and employee retention issues
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Lead discovery, including written discovery, document review, and depositions
- Prepare cases for trial and assist with courtroom proceedings
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and experts
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on tort law
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- Stable employment history required
