Assistant Teacher – Ready Set Play Child Care Center (Lakewood, NJ)

Ready Set Play Child Care Center in Lakewood, NJ is currently seeking dedicated Assistant Teachers who are fun-loving, caring, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children. This is a year-round position , and our mission is to provide an exemplary early childhood education experience.

We are specifically seeking candidates with prior experience working with infants and toddlers.

Assistant Teachers support general classroom management and supervision, including personal care, hygiene, and positive behavior guidance. You will help implement lesson plans that support physical, social, and emotional development while setting up engaging materials and activities. Our classrooms emphasize exploration, creativity, and hands-on learning. All activities must be conducted in a safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate manner.

• Supervising and managing day-to-day classroom functions

• Creating teachable moments throughout the day

• Providing nurturing, encouraging, and joyful interactions with children

• Supporting lifelong learning and curiosity

• Assessing each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis

• Maintaining an attractive, organized, and engaging classroom environment

• Attending required staff meetings, trainings, and school events

• Following all health, safety, and licensing regulations

• Maintaining a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic

• Performing additional duties as assigned

• Ability to work an early morning or closing shift

• Must meet all state requirements for this position

• 1+ years of childcare experience , specifically with children under age 5

• Warm, friendly, and engaging personality

• Highly professional, dependable, and punctual

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to stay calm and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Able to work with children of all ages and developmental levels

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. for child safety and emergency situations

Job Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 1 year of assistant teaching or childcare experience
