What will you do as an Account Manager in Sealed Air?

As an Account Manager for Sealed Air’s Protective Solutions business, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth across an assigned territory in Southern California, covering Orange County and surrounding areas. You will balance the development of new business with the growth and retention of existing accounts, using a consultative and value-added sales approach to understand customer needs and deliver the right protective packaging solutions. You will build and maintain strong relationships with end users, distributors, and key stakeholders across technology, industrial, aerospace, and other markets, while identifying opportunities to expand Sealed Air’s presence within the territory. You will also develop your knowledge of packaging machinery and equipment to effectively position solutions that improve customer operations and productivity. Success in this role requires strong territory ownership, the ability to manage a complex distribution network, and a proven track record of growing business in a competitive market.

• Identify, prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the territory.
• Develop and execute account and territory strategies to increase sales, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, distributor representatives, end users, and strategic accounts.
• Manage and grow a broad distribution network while identifying opportunities to increase distributor engagement and sales.
• Apply a value-added, consultative selling approach to understand customer needs and position Sealed Air’s Protective Solutions as solutions that improve productivity, reduce costs, and address operational challenges.
• Develop a strong understanding of protective cushioning solutions, including inflatable bubble, shrink, and related protective packaging solutions.
• Develop knowledge of packaging machinery and equipment and effectively communicate the value of equipment-based solutions to customers.
• Partner with Technical Service, Packaging Development and Engineering, Customer Service, Operations, and other internal teams to support customer trials, demonstrations, equipment installations, and successful implementation of solutions.
• Maintain accurate territory plans, sales forecasts, pipeline activity, pricing, CRM information, and customer records.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers, distributors, and internal partners.

What skills will help you succeed?

• Proven experience in industrial sales, with a strong track record of driving business growth.
• Experience with equipment or machinery sales; exposure to packaging machinery is highly valued.
• Demonstrated ability to balance new business development and existing account growth.
• Strong hunter mentality with the ability to identify opportunities, build a pipeline, and close new business.
• Experience managing and developing distributor or channel relationships.
• Strong consultative and value-based selling skills, with the ability to connect solutions to customer productivity, cost, and operational needs.
• Ability to build relationships and influence customers, distributors, and multiple stakeholders across a complex territory.
• Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to understand competitive markets and identify growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to independently manage a large territory.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Pay Transparency

Total Target Compensation (Base + Comission):

$145,000 – $166,750 annually
