Guest Services Assistant Manager

The Steamboat Grand, the largest hotel and conference area in Steamboat Springs, is looking for a Guest Services Assistant Manager. Both a strong background in hospitality and previous experience in supervisory management are required.

Shifts to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and sometimes graveyard MOD or Night Audit duties.

Essential duties include overseeing all phases of Front Desk operations, maintaining a strong presence at the Front Desk, overseeing all staffing/scheduling requirements, closely monitoring guest experience, effectively communicating new and/or changing procedures, attending meetings, overseeing the wholesaler and internal reservations process, reviewing Night Audit reports, assisting Guest Services Manager in hiring/interviews, establishing employee expectations, conducting employee reviews and performance improvement plans, directing and monitoring all Product Maintenance tasks, conferring regularly with other departments or company personnel, and other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include a professional background in impeccable customer service, a background in some type of hospitality or customer service, knowledge of Springer Miller PMS system and Inntopia applications, previous supervisory experience, and a position contingent on a background check.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with a college degree preferred.

Physical requirements include using keyboard, computer, telephone, and headset simultaneously for long periods of time, frequent periods of sitting and standing based on business needs, clearly speaking and comprehending the English language, lifting office supplies and packages up to 40 lbs., and being a minimum of 18 years of age.

Working conditions include indoor/outdoor exposure to harsh and varying outside weather conditions, and a moderate noise level in the workplace.
