Accounting Specialist Hastings

West Michigan organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations in a collaborative, on-site environment. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and partnership across the accounting team to ensure reliable financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:

• Process and review high volumes of financial transactions, including invoice matching and coding
• Coordinate approvals and assist with payment processing activities
• Manage shared inbox communications and respond to vendor inquiries
• Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting requirements
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with audit requests
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Provide cross-functional support across accounting and finance, including payroll and inventory processes

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

1-2 years of accounting experience preferred

Strong Excel skills (spreadsheets, formulas)

Experience working in an ERP or accounting system

High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
