Job Title

Registered Nurse – NICU (Charge)

Location

Apple Valley, CA | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13–26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-hour shifts | 18:00–06:30

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU with approximately 190 births per month
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, including coordinating unit workflow and supporting staff
• May be expected to float to Mother/Baby unit for infant care; candidates with couplet care experience may float fully
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Adhere to all scheduling expectations, including weekend rotation (every other weekend; may exceed to meet unit needs)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in NICU specialty
• Required certifications: BCLS, NRP, and PALS
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of initial submission; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard rate; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume Level III NICU environment
• Couplet care experience preferred for expanded float eligibility to Mother/Baby unit
• Prior charge nurse experience in a NICU setting
